10TH ANNUAL BUTTERFLY EFFECT MAUI
The original water women movement continues to build community above competition.
On April 16th, 2016, The Butterfly Effect celebrated its 10th year! The event was blessed with a beautiful day and bright “Butterfly” participants. Everyone was in it for each other and to enjoy nature, health, and fitness together. The surf was too big to launch from Paia Bay, so the participants headed down the coast to access the ocean safely. Ending at Kanaha was food, music, dance, performances, demo booths, art, massage, hydration station, windsurf lessons and more!
It was a great time to share, inspire, empower, and exchange aloha with the community while being out in nature. It was the first year the event strongly encouraged going “green” and encouraging a plastic-free event zone, asking participants to bring reusable hydration bottles, promoting sustainable companies, and wear sunscreen that is ocean and reef safe.
This year the event started the week before with fun free fitness classes for all participants. There were classes island wide to choose from.
