Imagine a prone race between Lacanau and the Dune of Pilat, in France. An oceanic marathon of almost 50 kilometers…
The Dune Paddle Crossing is our ambassador Pierre Lopez’s mad project. Working as a lifeguard in Lacanau, in the south west of France, Pierre practices prone paddleboard in all conditions. Inspired by mythical races such as the Molokai2Oahu in Hawaii and the Catalina Classic in California, he decided to create the Dune Paddle Crossing. Much more than a race, the Dune Paddle Crossing is a real adventure in which participants paddle between the tidal pools of Lacanau, the Cap Ferret headland and the different mouths of the Arcachon bay. More than 6 hours of effort with the finish line always in sight, right at the foot of the most beautiful dune in the world.
Pierre invited his friends to test the course and set up a test edition: Ludovic Dulou, Olivia Piana, Mederic Berthe, Alexy Berthet, Antoine and Olivier Darrieumerlou. Our cameraman Pierre Frechou followed them from start to finish in order to make you make you experience this incredible crossing from inside.
