The around the Statue of Liberty Race has created a lot of buzz. From endemic media to magazines such as Forbes, news sources are covering what is the most dramatic moment for the sport of Stand Up Paddling on the East Coast and United States. The World’s Best stand up paddle athletes will assemble to take on this iconic race course, launching from Pier 25 under the Freedom Tower, crossing the notorious Hudson River and around the historic Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
This event will broadcast LIVE at www.appworldtour.com on Saturday, September 15th at 9:30AM EST.
However, in the core market, the anticipation of the world’s best SUP surfers descending on the City of Long Beach to kick off the APP World Surfing Tour’s 2018 season is well and truly intensifying.
5X World Champion Kai Lenny from the Island of Maui will return to defend his title amidst what is, without a doubt, one of the most competitive fields ever assembled for Stand Up Paddlesurfing. NO stranger to fierce competition, Kai will be looking to add another event win to his impressive track record with the goal of posting his first notch in the realm of SUP surfing toward another World Title in 2018.
