PRESS RELEASE
The Crowning of Champions.
Over the weekend of October 1st and 2n d Watergate Bay located on Cornwall’s rugged north shore will play host to the third and final round of this years BSUPA Sup Surf Series.
In the Overall Open Mens Division 19 year old Aaron Rowe, from Jersey is currently placed 1st. Having won both BSUPA series events at Putsborough and Gwithians, with a clear lead on the other competitors, and based on his current form Aaron is looking favorite to win not only the event at Watergate Bay, but with it be crowned 2016 BSUPA Surf Series Champion.
Chasing Aaron in 2nd place overall is 15 year old Blue Ewer from Devon and in 3rd 17 year old Ollie Laddimen from North Wales. Less than a 100 points seperates the pair.
In the battle for Open Women Series title, it is between current overall leader Marie Buchanan from Devon, and 2nd place Nikki Graham from Cleveland. However less than 200 points seperates them so it is all to play for. Last years Watergate Bay winner Tina Beresford from Newquay is currently placed 3rd, and a win has the potential to put her in contention for the overall title too.
All is set for an exciting series final, with nothing 100% down and dusted nor titles claimed till the sound of the final judges hooter. A fantastic culmination to a season of competition.
Winners of both Open Men and Women will be eligible for team selection for Team GB at the 2017 I.S.A World Stand Up Paddleboard Championships.
