“ With most of us having seen the TV series “Deadliest Catch” over the years, the wild and cold Alaskan backdrop seemed like an awesome place to plan an adventure. We had been looking at doing an Alaska trip for some time, communicating with Scott Dickerson from Surf Alaska. He had sent us shots from the bore tide that runs for miles up a shallow inlet, as well as a few pretty respectable surf shots. In the end it was decided to combine the elements of kite and sup, flying up kitesurfing World champion Kevin Langeree – a talented sup goofy footer, together with Kai Lenny who is no stranger to any boardsport. Trying to find a window of time where Kai’s, Kevin’s and my schedule would line up was nearly impossible, but we managed to pull it off between events. The boys would fly out early, and I would catch up a few days later when my schedule back home in Hawaii allowed.
