Kai and Kevin flew in to Anchorage and were met by Scott. They started out heading up to Girdwood, a little over an hour from Anchorage, and home to the infamous “Turnigan Arm” bore tide. It is also pretty cold, but not crazy cold, around 10 Celsius. They rode the tidal bore on sup short boards, with the wave ranging from knee to waist high, but running for over a mile. They sent me back some pictures that night and got me wishing that I had not missed the first day of their trip.
