Arthur, it seems like you’ve been on the water ever since you were born. Can you tell us more about the journey?
I started windsurfing around 8 or 9 years old, and every summer I spent all day with my father Michel and my sister Alice (pro sup and windsurf rider) so yep, it’s a family affair! Alice started training harder and harder and I followed the momentum and in 2009 I discovered stand up paddle thanks to her. I remember she tried it in Hawaii and when she came back she convinced me to order one. Our first goes were in waves and I immediately loved the sensations and the glide that I felt, I was hooked!
SUP racing came naturally then, I guess?
Yes, one day I went to a big sup contest in Britanny and jumped on a real 12’6 race board for the first time, I was amazed! I started slowly by borrowing boards from my sponsor at events and then I got more and more involved. Stand up was originally something for fun beside my first passion of windsurfing, but as I got some good results, it got more serious year after year and now I’m fully dedicated to the sport.
