I guess it’s not just a feeling as your sister Alice is also with you on the team…
Yes, it’s such a positive to spend time and share this amazing journey with a person I know and appreciate so much. She’s always the first person to motivate me to go surf or calm me down and help me to get positive when contest results are disappointing, or when I feel home sick. She’s a bit older than me so knows how to deal with travelling issues. I would never have made it to here without her, that’s a fact.
I’ve noticed too that you give her some advice nowadays?
That’s really cool for me, as I always try to help her the best I can to get her gear perfectly tuned and to motivate her to go charging decent waves. I like to tell her: ‘’Go Alice, don’t panic, you are used to charging bigger kinds of waves windsurfing so don’t hesitate with stand up’’. It’s good to know that we always push each other forward and evolve together.
Another important person for you (and Alice) is your father Michel. He seems really involved in every part of your career.
Yes, it’s huge. My father has been helping me so much all these years, he has driven me to so many contests in every part of France and Europe, so much time on the road followed by long weekends or even weeks at spots, dealing with all the gear to carry, checking the competition heats. He’s 200% involved in what I am doing and even when I’m overseas, not with him physically, we always stay connected. I feel blessed to have had him around for so long.
