Airbnb or hotel?
Either works. The hotels are generally happy to provide breakfast and dinner upon request – some Airbnb’s like the Wind House will do the same. The brothers Carpentier prefer the Hotel Parc Imsouane. Be warned: there’s some, uh, budget offerings that are pretty sparse. Great if you’re on an adventure – probably not so great if you’ve got the family in tow.
Bring cash
It’s a cash economy… and there’s no ATM. Nearest ATMs are 20km to the north and 30km to the south. As long as your accommodation are paid for, 200 dirham a day should get you through meals and a couple cups of coffee extremely comfortably. And that’s eating well.
Book your table for dinner
There’s a few restaurants in town, and you’ll definitely eat faster after a long day on the water if you drop by in the afternoon to let them know when you’re coming. Walk up for dinner, and you might find yourself with quite the lull in service.
You will share waves whether you like it or not
This isn’t Hawaii. There’s a lot of beginners. Adjust your wave etiquette accordingly and have fun.
