Ollie and I have been riding these boards from day zero. I used them for many of my travels as do-it-all boards. Ollie enjoys surfing these boards in small waves back in Thailand. Even though I’d used this model for a long time, I must admit I was never completely sold on the concept and I kept on riding my trusted Pro boards at home most of the time when conditions started to look good enough. So, with a terrific forecast ahead of us, I was really intrigued to see how the 2019 Hypernuts would perform in the upcoming days. In fact, on his arrival Ollie told me that the new Hypernuts underwent a complete rethink and he urged me to try one and tell him what I thought. The next day, when we hit the water at dawn in overhead swell I felt the difference on the first wave. I was able to hold a line and have control in those conditions. Superfast on the wave, easy to initiate turns and fast to redirect. Ollie was right.
This innovative model, hyper-compact and with a skatey feeling that was originally designed for shredding on small waves was actually proving to perform really well when the waves got bigger. It suddenly opened up a whole universe of situations where I could easily travel with only board only have some serious fun from 2 to 6 foot plus swell.
