Back to Arugam
Olivia wakes us up every morning at 5:30 to be in the water at 6 o’clock. She spends hours surfing and getting better every day. Arugam Bay is punctuated by sessions and parties where beer will flow on the dance floor with all our surfer friends. Manu organizes a hazing Olivia will never forget. Photos of this overflowing festivity remain stashed in the hard disk of our reporter, maybe forever.
Despite this, she still wakes up at 5:30 in the morning to go surfing …fuck the girl! The country is full of wonders and it is reasonable to expect a tourist stop at Kandy en route back to the airport. A visit to the ‘temple of the tooth’ (a shame for those who know me) is needed. It is a Mecca of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and it’s good to know a lot more about this religion. We thank Buddha not only for the frequency of swell during our journey but mostly that we were protected on the road, being able to reach Colombo unharmed.
“ The local surfers are adorable and welcome us with open arms despite our paddles. What a change from the brainless Hossegor beach break where I had to spend
a few weeks ”
