The forecasts were pointing north to a transitory lull at the top of Ireland. The further north you travel the harsher the days are as a rule, but there is also the benefit of being right in the fast lane for jet stream weather systems. Skies change and fronts pass faster than further south. A few days before Christmas, the forecast began to mirror the theory. A series of lows were just finishing their migration east whilst another followed close behind like it was late to the party. In between was my only time to SUP, I never try and force the weather but you can be ready and you can be prepared.
