Nature must be the most precious possessions of the Canary Islands. It is so broad in its sweep, so varied in terrain that it’s almost impossible to find an adjective that describes it all. Forests, sand dunes, volcanoes, natural pools…Unspoiled nature which paints the landscapes of the islands in contrasts. Four National Parks and six Biosphere Reserves mean that this sneeze of volcanic rocks in the mid Atlantic is considered one of the most valuable ecosystems in the world. Indeed, the pristine beaches of Fuerteventura earned the entire island the honour of UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve status in 2009.
