The results of these innovative educational programs was that the kids immediately started to care more about their environment and were building useful life skills – for example, one of the children to whom Linzi had given the first lessons a few months later saved a friend from drowning by using rescue techniques he learned at his first SUPKids program!
Many other stories like this probably occurred in the infancy of SUPKids and sharing knowledge and time on the water with socially impaired kids was something that always fascinated me a lot so I decided to do something to contribute to the cause.
In the end I was just connecting the dots from being an outdoor photographer, a traveler and an ambassador of the sport I love and of the lifestyle it carries to be able to make an impact and do some good for the communities that so warmly welcome me every time. Again to make a shift from being a passive spectator, a passenger, a documenting photographer, to engage myself actively and try to do some good for what was within my reach.
