BOAT TRIP TO CASSIS
A cruise on a semi-rigid hull seemed to me like a good idea in order to fully enjoy the magical views of the Bay of Marseille. That wasn´t accounting for the wind or the swell that turned this part of the adventure into a pretty hellish time! After a testing crossing, the girls were happy to be sheltered again by the cliffs of the Calanques of Cassis. We started with the Calanque of Envau; if paradise does exist on earth, it has to be there. Jean happily spends the whole day climbing the rock faces to find the best views and shooting angles. I may be in love with the Côte Bleue, but the fact remains: we have found some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It was an arduous trip but it was definitely worth it. Having a boat and a SUP are crucial to truly enjoy the place to its fullest. If you are trekking you need a good hour of scrabbling on narrow steep tracks to reach the best spots, while with our SUPs, we just cruised from one creek to the next in no time. Klaas is ecstatic and the photos are just incredible. The summer season has not quite started yet, and we are all alone, while Marseille sits only a few dozen minutes away from us. Mind = blown!
