Designed as a way to extol the virtues of a life aquatic to different regions around the globe, the BCWT draws together a bunch of water people into a sort of living competition where the rules, like everything else, are in constant flux. One’s head is definitely needed to be on a swivel to be in with a chance of surviving.
Anyway, apropos of the next stop for the tour, Diony Guadagnino (pioneering South American windsurfer) had long since told Brian about the Los Roques archipelago off of Venezuela which he’d grown to love during his youth in that country. deAction Man was inspired, and so the tour was headed for the islands.
Last minute arrangements, it’s 1:30pm Saturday and we’re meant to be in Los Roques already but deAction Man’s still busy in Barbados, “It doesn’t look like the BCWT World Championship will happen in Los Roques”. He gets a call from Diony, “be ready to leave in 6 hours”.
