If you only have a week or so in Iceland I would recommend you stay on the south of the island. You’ll be immersed into a world erupting geysers, herds of wild horses, the most amazing waterfalls you could imagine, glaciers and my favourite, icebergs! I could write a whole chapter about the iceberg experience, but I’ll just say that paddleboarding and kiteboarding between the icebergs with hundreds of seals swimming around us was something else. It’s difficult to express in words the feeling the first time I went paddleboarding out there. Silence…silence only broken by gentle splish of the seals sliding back under the water when I got too close to them. Silence only broken from time to time by pieces of melting ice breaking from the glacier.
