Rent it or bring it?
It depends on how long you are going to stay and how often you’re going in. Also consider charges for sports equipment on the airline you fly with. For the unrepentant paddlers, obviously I recommend to travel with your own board.
For the cruisers that come for a fortnight and plan to surf or tour around just a few times, it’s best to rent. There are a lot of places to rent daily or weekly, where you will be able to find anything you need. By the way, in Costco you can buy foamy mini-malibu boards for a little more than 100$…so in some cases, cheaper than renting.
