The default setting for many would-be paddle surfers continues to be the South West but with such large numbers of visiting surf tourists the beaches are often packed making it nigh impossible to put together a few turns in fear of taking out inexperienced surfers on the inside, and copping some flack if you get too close to the ‘real action’, unless you’re ‘a local’ or Kai Lenny himself!
