That said there’s something for every standard of SUP surfer on the East Coast. Often, you can drive to one spot and it looks like ‘death on a stick’- especially during winter if there’s a huge Northerly in play – but drive a few extra miles to a location with a slightly less exposed direction and you can find SUP surfing Nirvana that’s often achievable for intermediates and up. As ever, ‘the search’ can be very rewarding if you’re prepared to put in the effort.
