With an increasing number of surfers, windsurfers, kayakers and kite surfers taking to SUP and introducing their kids to the sport too the local scene looks to have a very promising future. We’re already seeing some very useful groms getting amongst it on bigger days and with many of the UK’s top competitive SUP surfers hailing from the region it’s testament to the conditions we get up here. Most paddle surfers I’ve encountered on the East Coast are super friendly and supportive whatever your level with far fewer egos than you might get in other water sports.
