We’re transported by this heavenly landscape. In the ocean fine lines are already showing ahead of the heavy swell expected the next day… By now we’re sure of our good luck and set off in search of cheap accommodation near the surf and a jetski for Manu. On paper, this could look complicated. But I soon run into Luis Benitez, a Rincon local I met on the first night during my bar tour of San Juan. He’s a guy with a big heart and he offers us his home while he works in town all week. And people tell me I spend too much time in the pub!
Later on visiting Rincon Marina we meet Michael Vicens who we met at Shacks. Versatile waterman, foil enthusiast, owner of Sea Schoolkindly foil school, and also owner a beautiful jet ski which is perfect for our intentions. That’s what I call a good day’s foraging!
