Nepal has many great rivers for rafting, kayaking, and standup paddling. Most of them are very challenging, with class 4 or 5 rapids trying to flip you off your board and suck you in. Our river with a class 2 is a mild one, but still challenging and exciting enough for us to paddle down with all our accompanying gear. We pass by beautiful landscapes and small farms. The river is an important source of rock and sand that villagers use for building rice terraces and houses. Every now and then we pass by kids playing on the riverbanks next to their parents, who are fishing for tonight’s dinner. We stay on the river for two days, before it’s time to go back to Kathmandu to catch our flight, enjoying a great white water descent through one of the most unspoiled valleys in Nepal. Luckily by the end of our river adventure the roads are open again and we can take a bus to Kathmandu.
