I’ve been paddling for 8 hours and 46 minutes over 43.67 kilometers. It’s been hot on the water today and I am close to the finish. I can see the big banner at the finish line. I can hear the music as it bounces off of the canal walls and the quaint, cobbled village streets. I can hear the screams and cheers of my friends and the multitude of volunteers and supporters who have come out to see me finish. I have been here before.
