The land of a thousand lakes is a dream come true for every paddler. Not only because of the water, but also thanks Jokamiehenoikeus, literally ‘everyman’s right’ (to roam). That means that you can pass freely through nature without some lord or lady landowner popping up from behind a hedge telling you ‘no, no, no, no, and NO’. The most important rules are simple enough to abide by: don’t damage the environment and leave the landscape the same way you found it.
