To put some of the elements of the rapid into perspective, this was a class 4 rapid, with waves reaching 7ft at times. Boils and eddy lines were there one second to be replaced by whirlpools the next. It was crazy. Needless to say, there were lots of swims and down time. But something I wasn’t expecting happened next…
