Unspoken Mantra
True to rumour, Caribbean winds are consistent, picking up in the early afternoon and carrying on through the day. This specific visit, however, would hold a windy weather pattern that would satisfy an athlete’s hunger for weeks on end. The wind seemed to be already up in the morning, beckoning the morning riser, “where have you been?” To which the only answer was to rig kite and sail for a session on the crystal clear sea. The BCWT took advantage of this fortune and toured the island for a perfect bay and break to demonstrate athletic skill. The group ventured out into the country in search of proper conditions and stumbled upon the most picturesque silver beaches.
One notable find was the wave at Bathsheba. Just a stone’s throw from the world famous break, Soupbowls, this wave would be a kitesurf first for this visit. Having never harnessed the raw winds and ocean power that folds over the reef, Airton felt compelled to leave his mark.
