The Grenadines and the islands are just about tailor made for blue water discovery and long downwinders. One must-do two hour crossing starts from our kite center and it has you crossing the warm turquoise lagoon, pushed by the current and wind. You then enter the beautiful clear water mangroves and continue through these salt water trees and amazing nature, the birds and fish using the mangrove as their own animal sanctuary.
The ride culminates with one last crossing in a second lagoon before you land at Campbel Beach, one of Union Island’s most secluded and special beaches; again there’s a very big chance you will be the only one there. Campbel Beach has a small rolling waves peeling around a small reef protected by the wind so you’ll finish your downwinder in style. A speed boat then comes to pick you up towing the boards behind the boat all the way back to the watersport centre whereupon it’s probably time for a beer…
