Brač Island
Brač Island is one of more than 1000 islands of Croatia, located in the Dalmatia area. It is the 3rd largest island in the Adriatic and has highest peak, which makes it ideal for biking too! Separated by the Brač Channel, it
is right in front of Split, one of the most beautiful and historic towns in Croatia. This location makes it very accessible by boat.
Flying to Split is cheap and easy from many European Cities, and the city worth a few days visit for sure. If you are one of those Game of Thrones addicts, you’ve probably seen some of its streets in a few scenes!
I arrived at night this time. The streets and bars along the promenade were busy and the light and general atmosphere was very charming. It was not loud, but you could hear voices and laughter on the calm night breeze. It made me smile. This is Croatia, exactly the way I remembered it. Even though the camp was arranged for August, the island was not overcrowded.
In the morning I walked to the SUP Centre under the shade of the tall trees guarding the promenade. I met everyone and reccy’d the area – and sneaked in a windsurf session. I checked the possibilities for a SUP tour/downwinder, interval training, and the best place to set up the SUP fit board platform for the meditation. It was just perfect. Everything was ready.
