Aaron Koch has found passion and a home to house it in. A home on the river. He has a way of living and loving life that seamlessly blends the twists and bends of the river with the infectious sounds of rushing water. Aaron has been running a river and whitewater guide service called Stand Up Paddle Mexico out of beautiful Julcomulco, Mexico after 13years of cutting his teeth in the depths of Mexico’s whitewater and culture on various crafts including Kayaks.
Guillermo Ruiz is a Mexican local and an absolute legend. Without him this whole trip wouldn’t have worked out and we are so happy it did. His stories and his voracious love for being on the river is a treat and honor to be around every session. For the last 10 years, Guillermo has been running Green Experience Adventures in Julcomulco and the last 2 from Green Eco Resort; it’s as pretty and accommodating as any place I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous rolling green hills cut by bubbling blue rivers. It’s perfect.
We were lucky enough to be able to ride some rivers and share some cervezas with these incredible humans and this video is just a fraction of the incredible memories burned in our brains from the trip. It was amazing having the ability to capture some of what makes Aaron who he is and what makes the river such an important part of that. Can’t wait to go back.
