LOCO LONGBOARD 10’0 TEST REVIEW 2024
Verdict
The Loco Longboard truly delivers on its promises of high performance and smooth handling in the surf zone. This new wave of boards from Loco are as beautiful and light as you will find ‘off the rack’; the carbon wrap is a head-turner. The Loco Longboard proves to be an exceptional choice for surfers seeking a responsive and dynamic ride.
Overview
Loco are on a mission in 2024 with some of the most stunning boards you will set your eyes on. The Loco Longboard carries the stealth-bomber carbon with gold accents theme. Our test version is the 10’0 by 27”. It has a performance longboard shape; a broad nose flowing via a gentle parabola in the rail to a round tail. Underneath, a broad concave flattens out the nose rocker before forming into a V running to the 2 plus 1 fin set up. The fins are carbon, stiff and light.
The deck pad is excellent and the tail kick is situated right at the back of the board. This allows the rider to take full advantage of the pivot point in the centre of the fin cluster for sharp turns.
The Loco Longboard features the lightest construction in the world and is available in a choice of key sizes. It comes with a two-year warranty and is supplied with a free board bag and premium fins. Hand delivery ensures no courier-related damage.

Performance
We were very excited to surf the Loco Longboard, especially with a solid mid-summer swell. Does the function live up to the form? Absolutely.
The Longboard glides smoothly between sets and covers ground quickly. As expected from Loco’s longer boards, it rolls effortlessly into the wave. The sleek 27” width was perfect for Fistral’s long, fast walls, allowing early and high rail setting. First, we took a trip to the nose, which is easy even for those not accustomed to noseriding. As the wave shouldered out, a quick trip back to the tail enabled an easy cutback. Trimming high on the next wave, we engaged the inside rail for some climb and drop speed to race a section. The light board springs forward, which is very satisfying. Finally, we hit an aggressive, late re-entry off an incoming section. The Longboard leapt up to the lip, and the round tail broke loose for a tight redirection to the beach, riding out at full speed.
There are two different lengths and five widths on offer; we strongly recommend this 10’0 x 27” for a broad wave affinity with the potential for powerful surfing in decent waves.
