We are organising a massive Thames paddle in south-west London on midsummer Friday 21st June from Kew to Richmond, and want your readership to join us! The aim is to get 300+ on the river to set a record, and we need you!
This is an easy cruising paddle with the tide and ends at a plush hotel in Richmond where participants will be fed and watered. The main aim of Get on Board 2019 is to highlight the problem of plastic pollution, and locals will be cleaning up the towpath along the course while paddle boarders and kayakers collect what they can from the river. Building on the success of last year’s Get On Board event, the aim is to set a record for the number of paddlers on the river and creating a fantastic community event involving residents, businesses, workers and charities both on the water and on the towpath.
Can you please circulate this event with your members? Bookings for those needing to hire a board are very limited, but there’s no limit on the number of bookings we can take for those with their own board or kayak. And its only £20 for those with their own board AND they get a burger and a drink at the Bingham River house afterparty.
Set up starts at around 1pm at Kew, everyone on the river by 3pm and reaching Richmond around 6pm.
