“We just left our footprints down the Godavari River by Stand Up Paddleboard or SUP. We paddleboarded on the River Godavari for 25kms from pappihills to Polavaram in Andhra Pradesh beginning April 14,2018. The trip took around 2 days, and we were 12 people, each individual from different background, none of them is not a Professional sportperson.
This trip’s primary aims are to promote Stand Up Paddleboarding as a sport in India and to bring awareness of the positive stories of river Godavari through our social media. To participate in watersports, we need clean water, so one example of our work is that we will collaborate with River Bay Hotel Management & Local administrative bodies on creating awareness for cleaner water and eco tourism. Our vision is to share these stories on social media and ensure that through our work those who are working for a better tomorrow are part of a united front.
This Expedition is purely for purpose and all the participants are spending their own fund for all expenses related to this expedition. All the participants are trained paddlers and utmost safety precautions will be in place including support boat throughout the paddling trip. This expedition opened a new window of oppurunity for watersports lovers and eco tourism in Pappikonda hills.
Our next expedition will be in backwaters of Kollidam river, biggest dis tributary of river cauvery in the month of may and many more SUP expeditions will be conducted through out the India for promoting the cleaner water ecosystem conservation and promote human powered water sports.”
