TWO BARE FEET ENTRADIA ALLROUND XS 8’6 2021 TEST REVIEW
TWO BARE FEET ENTRADIA ALLROUND XS 8’6 2021 TEST REVIEW
Verdict
The Entradia XS is a well-thought out board that is loaded with features and a peppy personality. The generous width and reduced length make it practical for kids and smaller paddlers to handle the board in wind and develop good turning skills. The fibreglass deluxe paddle that came packaged with this one is good – comfortable to use and stiff enough to get some good power down.
Overview
At 210 litres and overall length of 8’6, the XS pumps up a bit faster than your standard all rounder and takes shape to show a nice inverted teardrop outline with plenty of forward area and a slightly drawn in tail which looks a bit more compact than the regular Entradia rather than being a scaled down version.
On deck you have the forward and rear padded carry handles, forward cargo bungee and D rings to fit the supplied kayak-style seat. The adjustable 3-piece deluxe fibreglass paddle comes with a second blade to convert to a kayak paddle – neat.
To keep the weight down without losing stiffness, Two Bear Feet eschew double laminate construction in the Entradia range and instead a reinforcing PVC ‘stringer’ running down the deck and bottom adds tensile strength
Pump, leash and tool-free centre fin complete the package.
Brand Claim
This 8’6” x 34” x 4.75” model has been designed specifically for kids and other small riders for use as an allround, everyday go-to board. With reduced lengthover our standard Allrounders, the Allround XS Entradia keeps it lightweight, agile, maneuverable and easy to handle for smaller riders. A moderate-to-wide 34” width provides a superbly stable base which is great for learning on.
Performance
The dimensions of the Entradia XS make it an easy board for kids to use from inflation to carrying to getting on the water, music to parents’ ears we expect! On the water it’s fun to handle and quick to turn using the paddle or stepping back which is rewarding for kids, and it keeps them engaged in paddling rather than treating the board as a diving platform.
The XS is built to TBF’s usual standards and will take a payload up to 80 kg no problem, and at 34” wide is as stable as your kitchen floor. It would be a smart addition to a SUP school’s quiver not just as a junior board but as something to mix it up a bit for adults in a bit if chop and wind, where it fits well. Truly the Entradia XS shines as a solution for families that want to get everyone on the water and paddling with a sense of independence. The as-standard TBF carry handles make great towing points for when you need to keep everyone together but we think those situations would become less and less with this practical smaller riders’ board.
