With a dismal forecast predicted for the first round of the BSUPA Nationals the SUP Punks tried to put on a last minute paddle surfing competition based around a decent East Coast forecast but uptake was small so they opted for more of a social with it being the last weekend of the Easter holidays. Despite lots of talk only 5 Punks turned up but it was great catching waves together in the spring sunshine. The foundations for a forecast-driven SUP surfing series are now in place and with a bit more planning we’re confident to see more ‘would be Punks’ getting involved as we roll out the series throughout 2017.
Anyone interested in competitive paddle surfing or those who just want to spectate should like our Facebook Page ‘SUP Punks’ and send us a PM to find out when the next ‘pop up comp’ is planned.
Similarly any brands looking to support the series or event organisers interested in putting on a leg of the series should get in touch through the Facebook Page.
