SUP TECHNIQUE | REACHING TO INITIATE THE STROKE

“Have you ever seen a T-Rex paddle!? Watch this video to see for yourself. Not only will you be entertained, but you’ll see a great example for why you need to reach forward with an extended arm at the start of your stroke.

A T-Rex paddling with their tiny T-Rex arms won’t be able to reach very far. This is why the T-Rex will never be a great sup racer, sup surfer or sup foiler! Because he can’t reach! And because everyone knows T-Rex’s don’t like the water. Back on track…Reaching with a full extended bottom arm will allow you to make the most out of each of your stand up paddle strokes.

Each phase of the sup stroke technique is critical and the reach may be one of the more important stages. Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more videos in our stand up paddle stroke technique series.”
